I had mixed success with it; not all links pull up full articles; I got
frustrated with lack of output in the end and did something else. But yes,
it is at least accessible.
I think it digs through RSS feeds, so you can point it at more, I'd like to
know if anyone had more success with the space.com site.... and careful,
not the twitter link, they've got nothing worth reading.
I haven't dug through all the headings I ticked yet, so plenty more scope
yet. I found it inconsistent when I tried to page up, when it went from page
1,3,5,7,11,14 and so on; not helpful.

R!

It seems like some articles stop reading in mid-sentence before the end of
the article. Is there any way to get the article to start reading again? All
I seem to be able to do is move on to the next article.

No, but you have to understand the concept behind Flipboard. It's meant to
look for sighted people like a page that you cam flip upwards and see the
next page-like if you had a legal pad with the pages attached across the top
and you flipped each page upwards to see the next one. The way to see the
next story is to do a three-finger flick upwards from the bottom of the
screen.

Hope this helps.

Flipboard is nice and you can link different accounts to it like your
Facebook profile, Twitter and so on. Its supposed to be similar to a
magazine so theres a big visual emphasis to it, but even then, its still
pretty accessible. I believe that theres a democast on how to use it with
Voiceover out there on one of the technology blindcentric sites, but I
forgot which one. The iPad version works different than the iPhone version
though.

Hi All,
My Media Specialist told me I should take a look at an app called flipboard
all one word. It is a news app that lets you choose the categories of news
you want then presents you with the headlines. If you find one you want to
read just double tap on it and it opens and can be read with VO. Flipboard
is quite accessible. All the buttons work. There is also a guide that I
havent played with yet. Three finger swipe to move down a page works but
the sound we are used to isnt there but the page does advance. There are
buttons at the top of the screen and the bottom of the screen. I have to
play with it a lot more but it looks promising. There is a sign in but you
dont need it.
I use the two finger swipe down to read an entire article.

Have fun Steve
P.S. Did I mention its free?
