Yes you can. When in trash or in the bin folder which is on the iPhone 5 when you double tap on edit then down on the bottom of the screen delete all comes up and you only need to double tap on delete all and all of the emails are deleted. This is what I want to be able to tell my friend how to do on an iPad. She wants to be able to delete all the emails in the trash folder all at once instead of selecting them one at a time. I hope this makes more sense.
