Cheryl, I don't know if this is what you're thinking of, but I carry my IPad Mini and keyboard in the padded case I bought from Best Buy for my netbook. My IPad Mini is in its own case, but my keyboard is not. Maybe something similar would work for you, but on a larger scale.
