Hello, Lori,
I, too, will be purchasing a new iPhone 5 tomorrow and am
excited! This will be my first time working with a touch-screen.
I will definitely be asking a Sprint representative to set up
Voiceover for me. The first thing I will be working on when I
get home (other than exploring the home screen, of course) is
making and answering phone calls. I will next move onto saving
contacts.
The phone itself will come with some apps, but you can also
download additional ones from the iTunes Store. You will need an
Apple ID to download apps (even the free ones). You can also
download music, movies, podcasts and books through the iTunes
store.
There is so much you can do with your iPhone, such as check the
w'ther, play a variety of games, travel using the GPS, stream
radio, listen to and watch sports, and video chat using Skype and
Facetime. There is even an app which helps you locate your phone
when you're not sure where you last left it. You can also
control your phone with a Braille Display.
This will definitely be a learning curve for me. I hope that my
suggestions will help you get started!
HTH,
Ezzie Bueno

Subject: New member and introduction
Hi all,
I just joined this list, so I'm a new member. My name is Lori
and I live in
Ohio. This afternoon I will be going out with my fiancee to
purchase my new
Iphone 5. I did get to see the Iphone 4 and 5 briefly and I was
impressed
with what I saw.
So with me going to be a new I phone user what things do I need
to know
about the Iphone? When I purchase my I phone 5 will there be some
apps
already on the phone or will I need to downloadthe apps I want?
And where do
I download the apps I want? I know I want to get the weather app
and the
money identifier app. Just to name a few.
Also what all does the I phone do? I know it has GPS on it and I
can
download music and do email on it amung other things Am I right?
Anything
you all can tell me about the I phone 5 would be appreciated.
Thanks.
Lori
