Hi Maria,
When you send a gift card using the "Send Gift" option on the iPhone it states right there that gift cards can only be redeemed in the country in which they were issued. I assume that is because of exchange rate differences and different prices for apps and media. I guess you could try and set up a new Apple Id using the United States as your country and then redeem it. If you buy music with the gift card you can download it and then go back to your regular Apple Id, since music is DRM free it should be no problem. I don't think you could do apps since they are tied to a specific Apple Id. Hi. I won a competition run by speed dots and they sent me a $10 gift card. However when I try to redeem it I get told that I am in Australia and this is a us card or something of that nature. I thought all gift cards were able to be redeemed regardless of where they came from? Is there any way I can redeem this card? thanks. God Bless! Maria from australia Newbie mac user.
