Hi Matthew,
Thanks for referencing that article. It goes to show what public opinion can do, but it's too bad that Apple needs the spanking first and to me the fact that they "changed the rules" shows that it was not a driver or technical issue where Apple shot down the project in order to prevent a bad product from coming to market. In any case, it's good to know that public opinion can influence even powerful corporations and let's not kid ourselves, companies like Apple, Google, Microsoft, Samsung etc. are powerful and can ride rough shot over smaller companies if they want to. I too agreed with the statement of Apple being stupid. However, I found the following link that clears this up. http://mashable.com/2012/12/25/pop-charger-brought-back/ Looks like the project has gotten the "Green Light" from Apple. Guess they didn't like the bad press. One item Rob covered was a case where a Kickstarter project was shot down by Apple and the guys who came up with the project had to refund $140,000 which they already received in pledges. What was the project? It was for a charging station which had both a 30-Pin dock and a Lightning dock. Even Rob from Today in iOS who is a huge Apple proponent couldn't believe this pettiness. I personally don't have a device yet with a Lightning connector, but I always defended Apple's decision to introduce a new connector. It's smaller, you can plug it in either way and if it had to be done then it had to be done. However, to go out and prevent an entrepreneur or entrepreneurs to bring a product to market which many people would have appreciated shows no grace whatsoever especially since it's not like Apple was offering something like that themselves. So, here it goes, a big Boo to Apple. Regards, Sieghard -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the "VIPhone" Google Group.
