Hi Keith,
In the list of apps that you allowed to access location services you can see if an app has used location services in the last 24 hours. One good way to try this is by using SIRI or an app like Ariadne or Sendero. In my opinion it doesn't matter how many apps you allow to access location services, as long as you are not using those apps it shouldn't affect your battery. So, I could have 5 navigation apps which are allowed, but if I make sure they are closed and probably best removed from the app switcher and if I never use one of these apps for an entire month then they should have no impact whatsoever on your battery. I found location based reminders do make a difference as Reminders checks your location quite a lot so you may not want to set a reminder saying "Remind me to call John when I get to work" knowing you have a week off and won't get to your office during that time. If you want to conserve battery it is better to turn WiFi off if you are out and about and don't use it since I find WiFi does make quite a big difference, probably more so than Bluetooth. The category itself can be toggled On and Off, and under that, any number of apps can be individually toggled On and Off. Is battery drain primarily from the category of Location Services being toggled On, or is the impact of multiple apps with Location Services toggled On much greater? Will enabling Location Services for 15 apps drain the battery more than enabling Location Services for only 5 apps? Or, is the battery drain from Locations Services a function of the category being enabled, and enabling app Location Services just allows those apps to access the info already onboard? Thanks for any insights. Keith -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the "VIPhone" Google Group.
