Hello Rick, I agree with your below message. In fact, the other things we as users should consider, is posting positive reviews on iTunes so that it helps keep the star rating higher. Also, after an update, go back and do another review to update it to keep it going with positive reviews.

I totally agree. In fact, because of what I'm seeing with regard to the
dev's involvement on this list, I'm purchasing his app right now. It
has so much potential for us and the fact that the dev is really trying
to understand our needs and trying to address them is truly refreshing
and deserving of our support.

Hi. thanks for your response. I already like your app, cause Im not
fussed on the only 2 voices you can get with the read to go app. I do
use that app for daisy audio books though. Anyway I digress. Another
work around I have found if anyone is interested is to turn vo off and
swipe left or right to rewind and fastforward by sentence. the
bookshare notice was driving me crazy lol.

Good job on the app, and thanks for being willing to work on
accessibility. At the risk of sounding sappy, it's lovely when someone
takes the time to try make an app accessible.

Hi, thanks for buying my app!

Text navigation will be improved a lot in the next release. It will be
out in a few weeks.

The text area has VoiceOver turn off. That means it scrolls, which I
know is not ideal for VoiceOver users. You can double tap to start
reading from a word, which gives you an imprecise but workable way to
navigate.

You can also use the pre-built chapter marker, which can be accessed
from "Bookmarks" and "Chapters".

You can set your own bookmarks by pressing on word and hold. I know it
doesn't say the word you selected (which the next release will do.). A
bookmark is always set at the beginning of the paragraph, so you don't
need to be precise.

In this release, after you move the slider, you'll have to double tap
on the text area to move the speech cursor. This behavior will change
in the next release: you won't need to double tap when VoiceOver is on.

Dropbox files do not need to be zipped.

Please be patient as I improve my app to meet your needs better. And I
promise it will get better and better.

Best,

Winston.

Hi. Just got voice dream reader and have downloaded a couple of

I'm wondering is how do I rewind and fastforward the text with voice
over? If I double tap and hold on the adjustible slider it seems to
change, but If I just swipe up or down with one finger the text keeps
reading. the rewind and fastforward buttons seem to take me to the
previous and next thing I was reading. Also, I was wondering if files
that are put in drop box need to be zipped?
thanks.

Hi.
Though I agree that Calibre is an excellent book manager, its GUI is
not accessible to any screen reader. However, it can be used to
convert books from mobi to epub through the command line, which is
accessible. See
http://manual.calibre-ebook.com/cli/ebook-convert.html
for instructions. I have a Pithon script which, when a mobi file is
clicked, will convert the file to Epub and put it in a temporary
directory. If anyone wants this, let me know.

It is possible to set a bookmark with VO on, but it's a little
clunky right
now. You need to press the text area and hold for a second. And then
you'll
have the option to Define, Bookmark and Highlight. A bookmark is
always set
at the beginning of the paragraph you'll on. A highlight is set on the
sentence. So even it is imprecise because you'll see the exact Word
you're
pressing, in the end it'll be close enough. Once you set a
bookmark, you
can
go back to it using the Bookmark menu, which lets you navigate to a
autogenerated chapter, bookmark, or highlight.

I'm going to add a "Bookmark" button in the next release so you can
set a
Bookmark at the speech cursor without having to invoke the context
menu by
long press.

Thanks Winston, I figured you had gotten it but were busy with other
things
so it's cool. Glad to know that a lot of folks are using it, I have
found
the bookmarks chapter marks and such very usable for navigation and
have
used this since I have gotten it more than read2go because it does
recognize
more formats, and has more voices with everything. Keep up the great
work
and I hope to see some great things from you guys in the future. I
noticec
the textbox and that is handy. The only thing is, how does one set
bookmarks
in a particular book, or is it possible with voiceover yet. I can
get to
all
the bookmarks that are automatically generated but didn't know if I
could
set my own. I haven't explored the chapter marks yet and was
wondering if
that is a separate setting or how that works, but I use a lot of the
automatically generated bookmarks to navigate with now which is nice.
Anyway, thanks again for getting back to me, and keep up the great
work.
I'm
recommending it to not only blind and visually impaired patrons of
mine
since I work for the Library for the Blind here in Alabama, but I am
also
recommending it to students with learning disabilities that are on
bookshare
and even if they're not to use the app because of all it does
provide for
the price especially. I'm hooked and hope to see more great updates
and
features as you can. Thanks for a great product and keep up the
great work.
Take care and talk to you soon.

Hi,

Yes I did get your email. I'm thinking through text navigation of the
text
area right now. I don't want to rush to a solution yet. I can't just
turn
on
VO support because I built the text box myself in order to handle very
large
text.

Quite a few blind users are using my app happily now, using a
combination
of chapter marks, bookmarks, text search, and manual scrolling.
