Yes, iPads are like that as they have so much more of it to work with. I find landscape and both thumbs is a workable option. Mail for example, slide left thumb down the side for one of the accounts, tap with other thumb, slide down with left thumb for message's titles, tap with other thung to open, touch with right thumb in the head of the message body and so on, resume sliding down left thumb to check out more, and so on; use one to feel around and the other to tap for split taps; works quite well. Bak button is always, nearly always top-left you can go straight to with left thumb, tap with other. The keyboard is split in the middle when typing, so all is in reach for the thumbs. I never thought I'd adopt this method.
