No way to fix this. Split tap is simply touching and holding on a letter or
an app with one finger and then touching anywhere else on the screen.

Thanks for this; I haven't tweaked VO's settings yet, so it's on the
beginner settings, highest verbosity, unfortunately. Thus, as it is now,
split-tap is not enabled, and you have to tap twice to enter a character
into the text field. Going to have to fix this sooner than later.
