Hi Ezzie, There is a 5 and a half minute Podcast on www.Applevis.com which explains how to do this.
I haven't used this feature, but apparently there is a bug in iOS 6 which doesn't allow you to do this with Voiceover and the guy who does the Podcast explains how you can work around the problem by briefly turning off Voiceover at some point. As I said, it's on www.Applevis.com in the Podcast section.
