You should be able to do everything over you r wireless connection. However, if you want to sync music to it, you will need iTunes, unless you use dropbox or some other file sharing program to get it. The only other thing that I can think of is if you run out of space on your phone drive, you can store your apps on your PC. I find that the y fi sync feature of iTunes is hit or miss.
