Well, the first thing, I learned, is to go into Setting / Mail and turn off the preview pane. This seems to make the list a lot more sensible. I'll work more on it tomorrow, but as of now I've got Skype up and running on the Pad as well, just finished a Mac tutoring session using Skype on the Ipad, actually, and now need to link my Facebook contacts to Skype and so on. Great progress!
