Hi All, For me, one of the keys to really getting comfortable and fast with BrailleTouch has been to find the best way for me to hold the phone so that it feels very secure in my hands.
I am sure that we will all hold it slightly differently because of the size of our hands and just general preferences. For me, I do not have my iPhone 5 in a case. I like to position the phone so that the top where the lock button is located is against my left palm. I put my little finger on the bottom side and my thumb near the volume buttons on the top. With my right hand, I take a similar position on the right end of the phone but do not put my palm all the way against the phone. This way my hand does not cover the speaker. Holding the phone in this way positions my fingers perfectly to write the braille patterns. I think part of the point of BrailleTouch is that you can create text without having to have a flat surface, and additional keyboard and so on. Believe me, it feels a little awkward at first but if you take the time to find the holding position that allows you to feel confident that you are not going to drop the phone, BrailleTouch will quickly become a joy to use.
