Good afternoon list, I have just purchased the Consolette, which is an iPhone/pod dock which works via a free Marantz app.
The sound is brilliant and way ahead of other docks including the Zeppelin. I tried the Bose soundlink, which, worked well via bluetooth, but, in my opinion, was biased too heavily on bass and did not fill my fairly large downstairs room. The Consolette, as well as playing music through Siri also has access to internet radio [oddly enough only allows 6 presets thus far]. The cost is £900, but for the first month there is an introductory £200 off, which is why I am posting before really testing it fully. The shop from which I purchased it agreed that I could try it for a couple of weeks and return it if not satisfied. The actual dock is for the iPhone 4 s or before, but that link only needs to be done for the purpose of picking up the router. Thereafter everything can be done remotely via airplay. The unit weighs about 7 kg and only works off the mains, but to my far from perfect hearing, the sound is superb.
