Hi Michelle, This came up recently on the Mac-Access list. Have your friend check that the setting for "Themes" does not have "scrolling" selected. In the top row of buttons, flick to the "appearance" button and double tap. The pop up menu will have a slider control for brightness and buttons for decreasing or increasing font sizes and changing fonts. The last button is "Themes", which allows you to adjust brightness, fonts, page color, and the navigation/display method. Make sure that "Scroll" is not selected at the bottom of the menu. The default selection is "Book", which is how my iOS devices are set. i never try to change the "Appearance", but if your friend made changes in this menu while adjusting font size or color and changed the selection setting to "Scroll" this could be the source of his accessibility problems in reading without autoscrolling. Change the selection to "Book" before you dismiss the pop up.
