Hi Rebecca, iBooks works very well with braille displays if you do the following:
When you get to the page chooser line, just below the last line on a page, pan left once. Then press O-Chord or your braille display's Page Right command, if it has one (On the Focus 40 Blue, it's pressing down the right rocker bar). Then you're at the top of the next page, ready to read.
