I was afraid of this, which is why I asked about it. Thank you for your
response.
If enough of us make a thing out of this maybe something will change, but
then look what's gone on with the kindle.

You need to take this up with Apple Accessibility. I tried to in 2012 and
the subject in my case was the Magazine Stand. I got no useful response
from Apple on this. To paraphrase their response to my request for some
means of Apple updating their VoiceOver users as to which magazines become
usable with VoiceOver and which publishers are unwilling to enable VoiceOver
accessibility was that the publishers are responsible for making their
magazines accessible. Completely useless. An Apple accessibility
announcements only email list could have been set up and used for this
purpose but the corporation dropped the Apple in this case. You're not the
first to have raised this issue either, the appleviz website has a thread on
it already too.

I wonder if anybody has tried this. It appears to me you can buy their
magazines, such as Mysterious Ways, but can Voiceover read them or would
they work with a Braille display.
I would love to have Guideposts materials in accessible format such as this,
but am hesitant to put money into it if it doesn't work.
How would one find out if the app is accessible without buying it first, or
is that possible?
I was so disappointed with Christianbook's app that I want to be careful
what I get regarding any written word material, if that makes sense.
