Hi all, This is not an issue. You must hold longer to manually input letters. This is by design, so while typing normally, you will not hear the letters being typed, which could get very confusing.
Obviously this is much slower, but, remember when you manually type in a word,after you swipe right, do a swipe up to enter the word into the dictionary, then the next time you will not have to manually type the word. Every time I need to manually enter a word I swipe up to enter it into the dictionary... no matter if it is a proper name, abbreviation or slang. There is plenty of room, so fill your dictionary with everything, and eventually, you'll never have to manually enter another word.
