Hi Marissa,
You might want to search the archives for a more complete list because this has been discussed so much lately. I have a Jabra Supreme which is a nice headset (I assume you are looking for a single ear headset). The Supreme is not the smallest, but I like the fact that it is nonetheless light and it hangs on your ear and nothing actually sticks into your ear canal. I also like the fact that you turn it on/off simply by unfolding it or folding it, respectively. This way I never forget to turn it off. It also has voice announcements and it's clear and loud (at least in my opinion), it also seems to have good noise cancellation. Another good one is the Jawbone ERA, the Plantronics M50 or M55 (can't remember which is was) was recently mentioned as a less expensive alternative). Some people also mentioned some Motorola and Samsung models. I think if you stick with any of the good brands like Plantronics, Jawbone, Blueamp or Jabra you won't go wrong and it's just a matter of deciding how much you want to spend. The Jabra Supreme, by the way, was $99 here in Canada. Lastly, whichever one you consider, just look it up on Amazon, they usually have a good description and mention if it has A2DP (most of them do nowadays) and you can see the overall rating which is a good indicator as to whether it's good or not. In addition you can read user reviews and while they are not always representative of a product, if I read a bunch I get a good idea. As for the barcode scanning app I'd be interested to know what you find Digit Eyes doesn't do. I think it's by far the best one out there and if it doesn't give you information like directions or nutritional information that simply means that information was not provided by the manufacturer of the product. Ideas? Also, on another note, does anyone know of an app similar to digit eyes that would allow for a user to scan a barcode and the directions of the item be read aloud? ex: I buy a can of soup and yes I could drag around my maganifer/ portable CCTV to read the instructions but i am looking for an app that would do that for me? -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the "VIPhone" Google Group.
