If you have a 4s it could well be a phone issue. Since the release of the last two ios updates prior to the one the3 other day I have had wifi issues which are clearly down to the phone as many people online have reported the same issues. Apple finally gave in and replaced my phone and all problems went away. I found the problem becomes more persistant over time and eventually no matter what you do the phone will not connect to the router.

Hi,

You might want to check your router, possible reset it and while you are at
it check how many other WiFi networks you have in the area which may
interfere. The fact that your iPhone switches to a data connection is
because it loses the connection to your router and that is most likely a
router issue.
