Hi, I just used Plain Text to fill out a .txt application file last week. I did not have my Braille display with me, so used the onscreen keyboard. I found Plain Text to be a joy to work with.
I slid my finger slowly down the screen to find the areas which required information. Like VO on my Mac, when navigating this way, the cursor was placed at the end of each line. I then used the rotor to select between characters and words and used vertical flicks to position the cursor exactly where I needed it. I then touched the onscreen keyboard and started typing using touch typing. If I touched the screen above the keyboard, the cursor moved to that line, so I needed to take care for that. What I really liked about Plain Text is that it moves the page down a couple lines, or up a couple lines when I slide my finger very slowly in the up or down direction at the top or bottom of the text display area. In other words, when I move my finger very slowly down near the bottom of the text portion of the display (just above the onscreen keyboard), the view moves down a few lines at a time. I haven't yet experimented to see if this is a feature of iOS, or if it is just Plain Text. The important thing when using the touch screen relationally in this manner is to move one's finger slowly.
