No, first you have to set up a Google Voice account which lets you either
pick a number or it selects one for you. Then you hook up the OBI100 to your
router, connect a phone into the OBI100, sign into the dashboard with your
Google Voice user ID and password, then it does some calabraating or
whatever it does and then when you pick you the handset of your phone, you
have adial tone. Do a search on google for OBI100 to find out more about it.
That is how I learned about it. I love it, I have been using it for the past
5 months and have no dropped calls or any problems with it. I can't remember
how much I paid for the OBI100, but it has saved me a lot in monthly phone
bills as like I said, I pay absolutely nothing.

Well, one thing that I found out is that you can't answer your googlevoice
number it is only a transfer point. I bought an Ivo tech gadget to use
with
googlevoice thinking I'd hook my home phone to it and be able to answer
the
phone, not true. Luckily for me I had also set up my cell phone to accept
calls. Also, the settings page for google voice is not a text link on the
google voice page, so now I have this Ivo tech piece of equipment which I
apparently have no need for and a "home connection" box from Verizon which
I
no longer need. Any takers?

I find Talkatone even easier to use than Google Voice, though it
takes a bit of setup and I needed sighted help to change the setting
on the Google Voice web site, but it is a great app to use with a
Google Voice number.
