My cable provider uses a TiVo for it's DVR, and the TiVo app does allow
you to schedule recordings. I'm not sure if you have this option or not.

K, one of the factors I'm considering as I plan to change ISP's. Does
either the Comcast or U-Verse apps offer the capability to schedule
recordings using the iPhone.
I did discover that AT&T has an app that makes controlling the TV more
accessible, but at least its features didn't reference the ability to
set up recordings as their traditional app does.
