Troy, I am not sure what you mean by "local newspapers." I listened to the
interview on Blind Bargains and found it very helpful. I added the Cincinnati
Enquirer to my list and gained a lot of valuable information from the
interview. It is a great app!

Peter.
Sorry I didn't get back to you on this sooner. I'm inserting a guide
below
on the gesture alternatives for EARL. in our next release (anticipating
the
week of Feb 25 in conjunction with C-Sun), we have some updates to our
help
function that we hope will make it much easier to use.
Gesture alternatives for certain voice commands

We’ve designed Earl so that every single function can be controlled
using
the double tap gesture followed by one of Earl’s voice commands.

For users who are comfortable using gestures, we have also built in
some
gesture controls that can be used instead of voice commands for certain
navigational and playback functions. Voice over Users will find Earl’s
gestures familiar. With a bit of practice, these gestures can speed up
navigation in Earl when used in conjunction with our voice commands.

        Earl Function Voice Command
1 finger double tap + Gesture Equivalent
Stop reading STOP 2 finger double tap
Resume reading START 2 finger double tap
Read screen from top READ AGAIN Two finger scrub side to
side
Move up 1 paragraph MOVE UP 3 finger swipe downward
Move down 1 paragraph MOVE DOWN 3 finger swipe upward
Go back 1 screen in history GO BACK 3 finger swipe to
the right
Go forward 1 screen in history GO FORWARD 3 finger swipe
to the left
