Dear listers, Today I found out something about 1password that I thought I'd share. Question was: when using 1password on the iphone, how do I copy a certain password over to another application? Say you're inside the passwords tab sheet, or section. There you have a list of assigned text labels that indicate what each password is for, and if you double tap one using VoiceOver, you land in a new screen where you can see the password in question. Below it is the toggle to require master password authentication but instead, look at the password itself. VoiceOver will just read it, meaning it is not currently selected.
Now, if you double tap the password, it becomes selected, and if you flick left or right, nothing appears to have changed on the screen. However, a sighted person told me that if you now touch just above the password, you'll find something that says: copy, menu item. You won't find this menu item using flick gestures. >From here on it's easy: just double tap copy, and the password will go to the >ios clipboard. Close 1password, go into another app and there into a text >field, have the rotor on edit, flick down till you find paste, double tap it >and you're done. Nice to know. A question in this regard is, what it means that we hear VoiceOver say: menu item. Could this imply that there are more items on the screen than just the word copy? I don't find any other items, and flicking while the VoiceOver cursor is on the copy menu item doesn't help me further. So what do you do when you encounter such a menu item? Can we reach other options from there? I tried the rotor to find a clue, but no luck, so I'm interested to hear if you know this.
