I had problems accessing the NIV, but a reboot of the phone seemed to cure the problem. For how long, I don't know, but so far so good.

They recommend uninstalling and reinstalling it to solve the problem. The only issue this causes is that if you have downloaded one of these bibles you will lose it till they offer it as a free download again.
