Jonathan, Thanks for the correction. One more question. I am assuming that
if I have done an encrypted backup in iTunes and occasionally also sync my
phone with iTunes, both types of backups are still on my computer. Yes? No?

Again, thanks for the clarification.

Subject: Re: Encrypted backup question

Hi neal, I'm a bit confused by your question but I hope this answers it.

There's only one form of backup you can do to iCloud, but two you can do to
iTunes. When you back up to iCloud, your key chain isn't backed up. This
means that if you restore from an iCloud backup, you'll have to enter
certain data again, such as usernames and passwords.

If you back up to iTunes, you have the choice of making an encrypted or
unencrypted backup. An iTunes encrypted backup is the most complete form of
backup available. It backs up your key chain.

So an iTunes encrypted backup isn't stored in the cloud, but on your local
machine.

Hope that's what you were after.

Hi all, If I do an encrypted backup to the cloud, and then do a normal
backup from my phone, are they both on the cloud? I think so, but I wanted
to check for sure.
