I find UEB Braille easier to read them to write. I always end up putting exclamation points in the middle of my sentences, because the contraction for the word to in North American Braille is also the contraction for the exclamation mark. Of course, this is all context-sensitive. In UEB Braille, the word to is written separately from the word that will follow it, unlike in Kappa North American Braille, where the word to is squished up against the word that will follow it.
