I will tell you how I do it. 1. From the App Store, double tap on search. 2. Towards the top of the screen, there is a search field. Double tap on this and type what you are looking for. 3. Now is the tricky part. If the app you were looking for comes up, then all you have to do is flick right until it says the price button. 4. Then double tap on buy app. 5. Enter your Apple ID password and it should install.
Now if the app you were looking for doesn't show up right off the bat, you have to flick right until you hear voiceover say "Picker item adjustable". Now flick up to get to the next app. Keep flicking up until the app you want is heard. The other thing I wanted to tell you about the App Store is that you can double tap on the app's heading and it will tell you the specifics of the app by flicking right. You will find this heading near the top of the screen. It should be right after the search field. I hope this helps a little bit. I don't have an iPad, so my instructions may be a little different, but the main part is the same.
