I'm not sure what country your from, but I believe here in the US you're not automatically dismissed from jury duty due to your blindness. In fact, I've heard stories of perspective blind jurors challenging their dismissal based on their blindness.

Hi,

Yesterday, in the post, came the below. not only is it a very
acceptable rendition from Prizmo and the StandScan, it is also
interesting to me as a VIP .

There were 2 sheets of print in the letter and I got a perfect
reading of the first which was a request for me to attend for jury
service. I don't know how this works around the world, but I had always
the impression that I, as a registered Blind person, was exempted from
jury service. Now, this may well be the case and I will find out when I
get there (complete with Guide Dog) but, actually, I don't agree with
this exemption and so will be arguing my fitness for the task. I only
raised it here because I got the info directly from my iPhone, using the
mighty Prizmo and my trusty StandScan Pro, and, while I know it to be
off topic for this list, I was just, in passing, interested to know how
the law stands in other countries prior to attending their selection.

     Happy reading,
     Sandy.
