I made the same mistake when I first encountered this. I guess Apple likes turning things upside down. But, I guess it follows the logic of their other gestures; when you want to bring up the next page, you flick up to bring the next page into view, so I guess this makes sense in that context.

That will scroll to the second one, and so forth.
