Hi Jeff, This is a tempting offer especially since when I went to that eBay link it said the speaker is actually new, but it ships in eco-friendly packaging which means it's probably not packed in some elaborate box inside another box and all that. For those who are interested in a good Bluetooth speaker I would say at $100 this is an awesome alternative to the Beatbox at $70. I'd spend an extra $30 any day for the much better sound of the Big Jambox and the fact that it has a speakerphone which the Beatbox doesn't have. As for myself, I just ordered my Turtle Shell speaker which, while it is more in the class of the original Jambox is what I want right now because of its toughness and portability. One thing I don't get is why Jambox is still using Bluetooth 2.1 when many other manufacturers use 3.0 and a few even are starting to use 4.0. I don't know the exact advantages of 3.0 or 4.0 over 2.1, but there have got to be some. The Turtle Shell is Bluetooth 3.0 and I understand from what the sales rep told me that Outdoor Technology who makes the Turtle Shell is going to also release a larger Turtle Shell speaker this year which would compare to the Big Jambox except it will still have the IPX6 dust/water resistant rating and I would assume be less expensive as the $299 which is the regular price for the Big Jambox. For those of you who replied to me before or for anybody else who is interested, I just filled out the dealer application for Outdoor Technology and should receive some Turtle Shell speakers hopefully in the next 3-4 weeks.
