Hi, I think you have asked this question in 3 or 4 different formats.
The bottom line though, is that you cannot store the apps on different
media like usb sticks or a connected usb add-on for the iPhone. They
must always be installed like all other apps. So, if you are trying to
update and you don't have enough room, you will have to delete some apps
to make room. It's also possible that other things are taking up too
much space, like pictures or music or videos.
