It's actually the done button and it's in the top left hand corner just under where the status indicators would be. You may have to double tap the screen to show the controls once the video starts playing. I have no idea why that happens from time to time but restarting the playback usually fixes it. what do you mean the back button? Backspace/delete key, or the back button within VLC player?
