Hi Sieghard and all,

Yeah, I have from time to time contemplated getting a stand-alone color
identifier. In the back of my mind though, I keep thinking that soon color
id apps will catch up, or nearly catch up with stand-alone equivalents.

As I said, the color id function on the knfb reader worked extremely well
(though probably still a notch or two under a stand-alone model,) and the
physical constraints being somewhat similar, I would think that reproducing
that same accuracy on the iPhone can't be that far away.

Like you, I have certain go-to old-school gadgets that I still use. But I've
also, on occasion, invested in a product that was soon eclipsed by something
better or cheaper or both.

Meanwhile,I just feel a certain dogged determination to see if I can get
better results with the apps I have.

Anyway, always an interesting discussion!

Lisa
