Hi Sieghard and all, Yeah, I have from time to time contemplated getting a stand-alone color identifier. In the back of my mind though, I keep thinking that soon color id apps will catch up, or nearly catch up with stand-alone equivalents.
As I said, the color id function on the knfb reader worked extremely well (though probably still a notch or two under a stand-alone model,) and the physical constraints being somewhat similar, I would think that reproducing that same accuracy on the iPhone can't be that far away. Like you, I have certain go-to old-school gadgets that I still use. But I've also, on occasion, invested in a product that was soon eclipsed by something better or cheaper or both. Meanwhile,I just feel a certain dogged determination to see if I can get better results with the apps I have. Anyway, always an interesting discussion!
