Robo-E goes behind a ball, pushing it in whatever direction you want to go. First you have to go to a ball, then push the ball to a ring. Robo-E can take a shortcut to another ball if there are no balls or walls in the way. Also, Robo-E is usually positioned next to a ball at the start of each puzzle, so that can give you a clue.
