First, the command spacebar plus dots 1,4 is in the list of braille commands
and will unlock the device with pretty much any display.

Is it a worth while command, not in my opinion, I was just reporting the
fact that it does work, but only in a very specific situation.

1. Make sure your device is locked.
2. 2. Turn on the braille display of your choice.
3. 3. Wait a few extra seconds, say 10.
4. 4. Press the home key on your device.
5. 5. Wait again until you hear the display and the device connect.
6. 6. Press spacebar plus dots 1,4 and your device will unlock. If
you have a pin code to unlock your device, you can then enter it; otherwise
it will simply unlock.

Personally, I've done this with the Refreshabraille 18 and an iPod Touch
5th gen, the BrailleSense Plus and an iPhone 5 and with the Braille Edge and
both devices, as well as the Focus 14 and the iPhone 5.

However, if I am going to press the home key to wake up the device part way,
I am going to just reach up and double tap to unlock it. But the original
question was simply, can I unlock the device with my braille display?

Just because something can be done doesn't mean it should.
