Hi Vicky,

The screen where you have Play/Pause, Jump Back, Bookmark and so on has 2
read outs. One is time elapsed and 1 is time remaining. The Time Elapsed can
be adjusted/moved back or forth, but this is misleading since it looks like
you are moving the playback position but nothing actually happens. If you
flick right once Voiceover says "Time remaining" and the time. This however
is only what is remaining in the chapter you are currently in.

One of the very nice new features of the new Audible app is that if you back
out of the play screen to where the parts of the book are listed, you hear
each part along with its total length if you haven't started playing it. If
you have started playing a part, it will tell you the time remaining in that
part, e.g. I am just looking at part 1 of a book I am reading and it tells
me 1 hour 24 minutes left. If I flick right once Voiceover also says
"Progress, 74%" which means I am just about three quarters done with that
part. This book I am reading has 3 parts so if I listen to part 2, Voiceover
reads the title, author and narrator and then tells me part 2 is 6 hours 52
mins.

I can also back out one more level to the main listing of books on my
device. Here Voiceover tells me the same information as for the part except
that it applies to the entire book. It reads out the name of the book,
author and once again the narrator and also that I have 14 hours 40 mins
left. If I flick right once I hear "Progress, 22%" which means that while I
am almost three quarters done with part 1, my entire progress in the book is
22% so less than one quarter done.

Once you have reviewed the information you can double tap on the "Now
Playing" button right above the home key and you are back on your play
screen.

Regards,
Sieghard

a related question here: I am reading a book and want to know how much time
is left. The ammount keeps changing as I read it with voiceover. it goes
from 8 minutes 3 seconts to 40 minutes. Thanks for any information on this.
other than that I like the app a lot.
