Hi Jed,

Prizmo, Text Grabber, Text Detective, SayText - these are all OCR apps which
work.

The quality of the results greatly depend on how good the lighting is when
you take the photo and how you hold your iPhone while you take the picture.
You have to hold it perfectly still and it has to be very well lined up,
e.g. if it is not aligned almost perfectly you won't get good results.

I am not sure how you could have missed the dozens of messages in the last
month or so about the Standscan and how much that product helps in getting
excellent scan results which in many cases rival a flatbed scanner with OCR
programs like Openbook, but if you did just do a search in the list archive
for Standscan. Spend half an hour or an hour reading messages from the
various threads and you should be up-to-date. You can also check
www.Applevis.com for Podcasts on OCR apps like the ones Imentioned above. I
doubt many list members will send you a super detailed message about this
given how much it has been discussed lately. It's all there for you to read
and the link for the archive is at the end of this message as it is at the
end of every message.

Regards,
Sieghard
