Jim, it's been a long while since I have used Google Maps, but I
believe you have to make sure that the driving directions option is
checked before the app will talk.  I wish I could explain the
disappearance of the "Action Results" button.  I have found that
button essential for speech.  Like David, I have had accessibility
issues with Google Maps.  I switched to MapQuest and find it generally
works well.  The buttons are labeled with understandable indicators.
MotionX and Navigon also get high marks for accessibility.
