There is also suppose to be a speaker called the Amazing speaker. You lay it
on a table, stick it on a window, put it just about anywhere and what ever
surface it's using becomes a speaker. Just 1 goes for around 75 bucks so for
stereo you need 2. I just don't want to spend that much on a maybe kind of
thing. They say you can carry a couple in your pocket and they have a Y
connector as well and turn your iPhone into a great stereo system. How many
times in my 65 years of life have I seen some gee-wiz thing that turned out to
be all blow and no show. Still, new times, new ideas or so said Captain Kirk
to Doctor McCoy. <grin>

the bose link also has speakers in the back that when placed in front of a
wall it makes the whole wall sound like a speaker.

I can't speak to the Bose link 2 but I can speak to the Bose sound dock 10.
Yes it has clean clear bass but even more importantly, it has a much greater
dynamic range. Dynamic range is what makes sound more like reality.
Generally, it takes a great deal of power to make a wide dynamic range in an
amp. It appears the sound dock 10 has found a way to do it using only 2 8 inch
speakers. I guess maybe that's why it's like 7 hundred dollars USD. And it
can do it with a 128 mp3 file. This model isn't sold at Target and other
stores. You have to go to a Bose store to hear it and it's heavy. Mine I'd
say weighs around 30 pounds. My wife refuses to take me to the Bose store any
more. She's afraid. Very afraid. She says they have systems there over 6
thousand and I get that glaze to my eyes when I'm in there which is why she
comes in with me and holds the gun to my head too! <smirk>

Hello, I do not have either product, but I remember reading in some
review, that the Bose has more base than the Jambox. Not sure about my memory
but the Jambox was supposed to have better mids and highs. I do not remember
where I read this review.

Okay, I have owned the big jam box, wasn't blown away by like the rest of
the general public. Right now it is only $239.99 on amazon. The Bose link2
is still sitting at $299.99 and gets a smidge of a higher review. Couple
things to take in to context here. The Bose link2 got 4.5 out of 5 stars. The
Big jam box got 4.4 out of 5 stars. The Bose has only been on the market since
September, and the big jam box has been out since last May, almost a year. The
big jam box has over 1200 reviews, and the Bose link2 only has 273. So
personal preference is the key here. Jam box has speaker phone, Bose link2
does not. Bose link shaped like a small book, big jam box shaped like a long
rectangular box. Jam box sound can be updated via usb cord, and sound adjusted
with a few button presses. Bose link has an app for the iMac, but saw nothing
about firmware updates. I will have the Bose link2 in my hands tomorrow, so
will be able to see if 1 out does the other. 1 thing a lot of reviewers said
about the jam box, that the speaker phone took some quality away from the
sounds of their music. Don't know, but I am not big on speaker phones anyway
since I live in a household of 7, and want to keep my few conversations private
anyway. More of a tester than a talker. Anyway, is there anyone who has owned
both that can add to this? If not, I will tomorrow.
