Hi Ming, Marcy, and Others,

Yes, there is a way to close apps in the app switcher with your Apple
Wireless keyboard using VO-Shift-M (that's control-option-shift-M,
where the control and option keys are the middle two keys in the group
of 4 keys to the left of the space bar). This is the keyboard shortcut
for the double tap and hold passthrough gesture. When you're focused
on the app that you want to delete in the app switcher, press Control-
Option-Shift-M. VoiceOver should say, "Editing apps" and repeat the
name of the app that has focus. Press Control-Option-Space to delete
the app. You should hear VoiceOver announce the name of the next app
in the app switcher window to receive focus. To leave the app
switcher, either press esacpe or VO-Left arrow to "Dismiss app
switcher" and VO-Space.

The VO-Shift-M keyboard shortcut works, but may be a bit fragile if
you try to navigate sequences too fast. In the case of deleting apps,
or dragging and dropping apps, the screen is both updating and you are
moving focus. Sometimes I do a VO-Space, particularly on the first
app, and hear the name of the app that I wanted to delete announced
again, instead of a different app. Just do another VO-Space to command
the delete. If you're worried about it, shift focus off and back again
(e.g., VO-Right and then VO-Left), and you'll hear the name of the app
announced, along with "double tap to delete".

If you want to clear out your app switcher window with the keyboard,
the following will work:
1. VO-H-H to the app switcher (hold down control and option keys, and
double tap the "h" key). VoiceOver says "app switcher", announces the
app in the bottom left corner of the app switcher window, and says
"double tap to open"
2. VO-Shift-M. VoiceOver says, "editing apps", and repeats the name of
the first app
3. VO-Space. App gets deleted and VoiceOver announces the name of the
next app.
4. Repeat step 3 until no more apps remain in the app switcher window
5. Press escape to leave the app switcher and return to the home
screen.

I've also used VO-Shift-M to drag and drop apps on my home screen into
folders. You can read the two replies I posted on the AppleVis forum
thread, "moving apps with bluetooth keyboard" for details:
http://www.applevis.com/forum/ios-ios-app-discussion/moving-apps-bluetooth-keyboard
I'll also give a shortened version of that link in case it wraps:

Another tip: if you use VO-Shift-M, and you either type the wrong key
sequence after, or if it doesn't seem to be working, toggle VoiceOver
off and back on again to reset its behavior.

I'll just repeat the answers you got from Marcy and Brett to your
other questions. VO meaans the control and option keys, pressed with
any other keys in the shortcut combination.
1. to go to the status bar VO-M
2. to go to the notification center VO-M to status bar. Then, with
quick nav turned on, press option-up arrow. Press escape to leave
notifications.
3. to get to keyboard help. VO-K. Exit keyboard help by pressing
escape. You can also get to keyboard help by navigating to the
VoiceOver practice screen in Settings, which will put your paired
keyboard in keyboard help mode until you leave the practice screen.
This is useful on minikeyboards that may not have both control and
option keys, or where you can't figure where these keys are. If
you've paired a keyboard, you can navigate to Settings > General >
Accessibility > VoiceOver > VoiceOver Practice via touch screen
gestures, then flick right past the "done" button into the active area
of the practice screen. Exit by double tapping the "done" button in
the top right corner of the screen (either navigating with the touch
screnn or your keyboard.)

HTH. Cheers,

Esther
