Hello With VZ here in VA we have a remote that in an ap on the iPhone. We have to go in to menus on our tv and then enter a code on our phone from that. From now on, we can use our iPhones to control channel, volume, and see what is on as we pass channels. I'm not sure about a universal solution, but the TiVo app seems completely accessible. There are also apps for other receivers as well.
