Hey Jerry, you can still sync audiobooks to your iPhone using iTunes
11. What you can't do, in Windows at least, is selectively sync them.
It's all or nothing. That's very unfortunate, and to be honest I can't
remember just now whether this is a JAWS issue or an iTunes one. I'll
follow up on this shortly.

What I do is select a group of MP3 files in my iTunes Library which
are audiobooks or radio programs etc., bring up the context menu, and
then choose "Get info." This opens a dialog box where you can view and
edit information pertaining to the content. On the "Info" tab, I fill
in the information as though this is an album of music. For example, I
put the author into the 'Artist' box, the title of the book into the
'Album' box, and so forth. If you really want to be organized you can
even go back and edit each individual file with track numbers so that
iTunes knows what order the tracks should play in. Then on the
"Options" tab the media kind should be set to 'Audiobook' and you may
wish to enable the option to remember your position. Note that this
dialog is occasionally a bit buggy and sometimes the options don't
stick the first time. What can I say, it's a bit quirky. The results
are well worth it in the end, though.

The other thing you could do is download a file management app such as
Filer or even Dropbox and play the files that way. There are many
advantages though to doing it as I described above using iTunes. For
example, you can tell Siri to play a specific book, and you can use
apps that will allow you to wake up to audiobook content if you wish
to do so.
