It isn't always about how near or far you are from the object. Being dead on target in regards to the label works far better.

My sighted son watched me use tap tap see to see if he could see any better way of doing things. He noticed that on many cans, the seam of the label goes on the left side of the can or at the 9 o'clock spot. When tap tap see can see the full label, your results are far better.

When I focused on a 15 ounce can, I heard can of chili. Well that's more information then I had but still not very informative. That was before we figured out about the label. Moving my phone nearer or farther from the can got me Hormel Chili. Still, better but not as helpful as it could be. When my iPhone and the label were both aligned and I found the sweet spot with near and far, I heard, Hormel Chili with Beans. My family likes chili with out beans. I like it either way but with experimenting, you can maximize your results. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Reg Sullivan" <[email protected]>

Hello folks. I've had excellent results with this APP. Tonight I picked
two identical jars from the medicine cabinet. I was thrilled when snapping
a picture of the first jar and when it announced, "Advil tablets".
If you aren't focused, Tap Tap will simply announce what it is seeing, e.g.
cream tile floor. As a rule of thumb, I like to hold my phone about three
or four inches from the target and move away as I snap. This allows more
complete focusing.

Cheers and have fun with it!

Hello everybody:

I have just started experimenting with this app. How would a totally blind
person ensure that what they wanted to take a picture of was completely in
focus? Thank you for your help.
