Hi All, I posted a detailed summary of version 3 TextGrabber changes in the app's entry at the AppleVis web site. As Eileen says, the OCR is faster and there is a single "camera" button for taking pictures, just above the home button. All labeling is much, much better, and includes hints. There's an earlier comment post of mine describing the buttons on the main screen and their functions, so you can get a feeling of the "before" and "after" labeling. Basically, I think that this app is now usable by someone who is an entirely new user, who is just following the information in the app. Here are some other changes beyond the better labeling, hints, and the better navigation of the menu options for what you can do with the recognized text.
There are enhancements for low-vision users, such as the ability to select larger size fonts in Settings for the displayed recognized text. VoiceOver speaks directions for using the interactive cropping feature, for those with sufficient vision to apply this feature. The organization of the Settings screen has been simplified. There are no longer entries to turn linked services like Facebook, Twitter, and Evernote on or off for you to enter login information. Instead, the user who selects one of these options from the menu of available options for the OCR'd text will be directed to Settings to enter the login and account information. The "info vf" button contents with version number and email contact has been integrated into the "about" entry on the settings screen, and this button has now become "user manual" with recommendations for use.
