Hi, all.
I wrote this morning about trying to transfer downloaded ringtones
originally downloaded onto the iPhone into my ringtones screen so I can
assign them to contacts.
I'm using the iPhone 5 with the latest iOS as confirmed by iTunes today with
iTunes 11.X. Here's what I've tried and the results thus far:
I've backed up my settings to the cloud just fine. It took about 2.5 hours
to move about half a gig, but it seems to have worked, at least the iCloud
backup info on the phone and in itunes confirms this.
I have synched my phone with iTunes, or at least that's what itunes says
when the phone's connected. I can verify that both a cloud backup and
iTunes synch has been performed by checking the settings options in the
phone and also the info portion of the iTunes window. I've also tried
synching with iTunes while the phone is plugged in and connected to the PC
with iTunes open and I'm notified via VO on the phone that the synch was
complete.
But I'm still unable to find my new ringtones under the ringtones section of
the sounds area, though they're still in the downloaded area of the
ringtones app I used to download them.
I tried synching with itunes over wifi and even though itunes says this is
set up properly, there's still no joy.
I believe I've configured the phone and iTunes to do a synch while the phone
is charging with the screen locked and wifi connected, but I'm not sure how
to verify this is happening without unlocking the screen and potentially
interrupting the process. Is there a set time for this to occur like there
is with Windows updates? If so I cannot locate this option.
Otherwise, I'm out of suggestions here as far as getting this accomplished
independently.
Any suggestions would be most appreciated as I'm really getting frustrated
with this process right about now. <sigh>
