Have you tried split tap? Holding your finger on the letter/object
you want to double tap, touch the screen with a second finger. You
don't lift the first finger, so you don't lose your place on the
screen. My students with neuropathy and arthritis like it a lot.

Hi Angus. Have you tried touch typing? It's certainly better than
double tapping every letter you want to type. Simply go into an edit
field and adjust the roter to typing mode. Swipe down with 1 finger
and it'll switch to touch typing. HTH.
