Hi. I've had that same experience when I'm writing an email or a text. Very occasionally I double tap to bring up the on-screen keyboard and nothing comes up. I have to shut the phone down completely and bring it back up. It hasn't happened in a month or so, and doesn't happen very often. I, too, have a 4S.
